Bawnless Recruitment Ltd are currently recruiting experienced Credit Controller for immediate start in Newry Pay Rate: £10.27 - £11.29 per hour Hours per week: 37.45 Working hours: Hours of employment: 37 hours and 45 minutes per week. The hours of work are Monday to Thursday 9.00 – 5.30pm and Friday 9:00 – 4.30pm. Job Type: Ongoing / Permanent The Credit Controller works as part of the Existing Credit Control Team, and is personally responsible for chasing outstanding invoices to the company and plays a vital role in the cash flow of the Group, ensuring credit given to customers is monitored and controlled effectively. The role is a target based role with the aim to proactively ensure that all accounts are maintained within the agreed credit terms, kept within their credit limits and carry out the administration that follows in an efficient manner. This role requires a discreet individual who can maintain the confidentiality of the information they are exposed to; the Credit Controller will also be a confident and driven professional, driven to succeed within their role. Specific Duties 1. Daily check bank accounts for payments and returned direct debits, and update the collection and return sheets 2. Contact returned direct debit customers via telephone, email and letter to make arrangements for payment or arrange payment plans, updating the customer’s account information 3. Allocating a bank charge to all accounts with an unpaid DD/ cheque 4. Liaise with Card Administration to put accounts on hold or release as required 5. Carry out Security checks on accounts with 2 unpaid direct debits before arranging release 6. Contact debtors/ customers for outstanding payment and arrange payment plans as necessary 7. Contact the bank on a daily basis as required via email/ telephone 8. Process/ run Direct Debits on a daily basis, processing large payments on Fridays or 1st/15th/ 20th/ 25th and 30th of month 9. Complete the Debtors Report (commercial and domestic) daily 10. Complete Exposure Report on a daily basis, contacting customers regarding interim payments 11. Lift early direct debits from exposure report daily 12. Carry out Customer Account Reconciliations – to include credit balances with valid reasons for accounts being in credit 13. Posting credit and debit journals and recording accurately on the spreadsheet, ensuring an audit report has been filed 14. Change invoice dates on Loan Account on a weekly basis 15. Send invoices on a weekly basis 16. Completing discount journals on a monthly basis 17. Issue customer statements on a monthly basis 18. Processing small claims and legal cases as required; to include liaising with solicitors etc 19. Deal with customer queries to include setting up bank mandates, sending missing statements etc. 20. Liaise with our sales department to assist in the collection of accounts; overdue accounts and outstanding debts 21. Change suppliers dates on a monthly basis 22. Being discreet and protecting the confidentiality of the data you are exposed to on a day to day basis Line Manager Reporting 23. Report to the Credit Control Supervisor a. daily on the payments received along with the account numbers b. weekly on the returns sheet 24. Actively partaking in meetings as and when required 25. Attending required training and ensure a certificate of completion is forwarded to HR 26. Participation in appraisals and performance reviews to assess your overall performance, duties, training requirements and development. Other 27. Adhering to the rules and regulations and Health and Safety guidelines of the company and the rules and regulations around your role 28. Demonstrate confidentiality at all times. 29.
